GameTime Cleveland #36: Off To A Bad Start

Same3Guys GameTime Cleveland

The Browns get off to a bad start with a disappointing loss in Tampa. The Buckeyes salvaged the weekend with a convincing win over the Miami Hurricanes. It’s GameTime!

1st Quarter: The Browns started okay

  • Started off by spreading the ball around to the receivers.
  • Took a lead with nice scores by MoMass and Hillis.

2nd Quarter: But lost momentum after turnovers

  • Turnovers did the Browns in. Delhomme reverted to old self and threw costly INTs.
  • No running game to speak of, despite some flashed from Hillis and Harrison.
  • Looked like Browns Offense from 2009 all over again in the 2nd Half.
  • Cribbs used in same predictable fashion in the Wildcat.
  • Wallace not brought in for relief despite Delhomme’s bad ankle.

3rd Quarter: OSU Looked like the better team against Hurricanes.

  • #2 OSU 36-24 over #12 Miami (box score)
  • Jacory Harris threw lots of picks (4) to the Scarlet and Gray. And OSU didn’t turn the ball over at all.
  • Miami’s special teams also cost the Buckeyes
  • Pryor looked good for the most part. He was our best running threat. And he made some good throws (12/27, 233 yds)
  • Disappointed that we couldn’t do more with Boom Herron and Brandon Saine (combined 73 yrds rushing vs 113 from Pryor).

4th Quarter: The week ahead

  • Browns host Kansas City at home.
  • OSU hosts Ohio U at the Horseshoe. Should be a romp for Buckeyes as they play two easy games before Big Ten conference schedule begins.
