GameTime Cleveland 117: Tear for Taylor

The Browns lose a DL to injury but the rookies are in camp. The Indians are in 1st place. And Cleveland has a new casino! It’s GameTime!

Qtr1: Phil Taylor may miss the season after tearing a pectoral muscle. Time for the next guy to step up, says Mike. No excuses.

Qtr2: Don’t get too high or too low after a few days of watching the rookies practice against themselves. How they do against real competition will be the test. Not how they practice in May.

Qtr3: The Indians bounce back with three wins following three losses to Boston. Thank goodness for Derek Lowe. Time for the other starters to get going. Ubaldo and Masterson, this means you!

Qtr4: Pitching problems aren’t the biggest concern for GM Chris Antonetti and Mgr Manny Acta. They have to get Kotchman hitting, need more from Pronk and Choo. Moving Choo to bat leadoff seems to have sparked something this week. Let’s keep this going. We’re up on Detroit by three games!

GameTime Cleveland 116: Indians Are Warming Up

The Indians are in 1st place. The NFL suspends Scott Fujita. And some NBA playoff talk. It’s GameTime!

Qtr1: The Tribe is alive. Winners of their last three series, the ball club is atop the AL Central.

Qtr2: How is Johnny Damon helping? Can Ubaldo become a consistent starter? Kipnis impresses.

Qtr3: The NFL suspends Scott Fujita for his involvement in BountyGate. Will we get to see what evidence Roger Goodell has on the players that were suspended? They are all claiming innocence, of course. Did the Browns do enough during the draft to protect themselves for the possible loss of Fujita for some games during the season? We’ll discuss.

Qtr4: The NBA fit 66 games into 4 months. But they can’t play seven in less than 3 weeks? These playoffs are boring! Can we get to round two? And will anyone stand up to the Miami Heat? Please?

GameTime Cleveland 115: New Backfield for the Browns

Now that the NFL Draft is over and we know what the Browns did, where do you stand? Are you a glasses half-full or half-empty on their moves? They have a new QB and RB and some help on the O Line. But where are the receivers? We’re talking NFL Draft and the 1st place Cleveland Indians. It’s GameTime!

Qtr1: The Browns get a new backfield and bolster their offensive line.

Qtr2: But where are the Receivers? Who’s gonna catch the balls from BW3?

Qtr3: Other NFL Draft observations. A punter in the 3rd round for JAX? Kirk Cousins for the RG3-led Redskins? Lots of trades in the 1st round. Weird, weird stuff!

Qtr4: We take back what we said about Derek Lowe. Where would the team be without him after one month of the season?

The NFL Draft is upon us. The NBA season winds down. And a chat with the Cleveland Indians from the Social Suite. It’s GameTime!

Qtr1: OK, enough of the mock drafts. It’s time for the real thing and the Browns will be on the clock on Thursday. What will they do? It’s been a well-kept secret thus far but most people THINK they’ll go for Alabama RB Trent Richardson. If he’s there, of course. Trade talk is heating up around the League.

Qtr2: The Indians heated up on their road trip and are back home for six games. They’re getting contributions early on from some unusual suspects. But they were in first place after action on Tuesday night. Wahoo!

Qtr3: and Qtr4: We sit down to interview Anne Keegan and Erin Parker from the Cleveland Indians to talk about how the team is using social media to reach fans in new ways. They’ve been thought leaders in this regard and their Social Suite is now in it’s third year. Besides the Social Suite, they are doing lots of new things in 2012 to reach fans, both local and out-of-State.
